Will massage benefit my horse?
Massage can benefit any horse of any age no matter if they are in full work, box rest or whichever discipline you choose to enjoy with them.
How long does a massage take?
Approximately 60-90 mins.
How often will my horse need a massage?
The length of time between massages varies from horse to horse and also what is sustainable for you and your finances. In general, I suggest the following which are by no means set in stone:
For a horse in light work or retired – 8-12 weeks
For a horse in regular work – 4-8 weeks
Competition horse – 2-4 weeks
A horse on box rest would benefit from weekly massages.
How much does a massage cost?
£40 per horse to include static and dynamic assessment, full sports massage and stretching sequence.
Can I ride my horse after a massage?
After a massage, some movement of the horse is beneficial to aid drainage of the toxins released into the system through the massage. Therefore, turnout is a good idea if the horse is quiet. Alternatively, a gentle hack is also a good option.
